THE THREAD is a feature-length documentary that explores how spiritual practices from across cultures, lineages, and beliefs are bound by something deeper: a shared impulse to create, connect, and make meaning.

Through the voices of spiritual elders and leaders—from Lenape wise men to Mongolian Shamans, Priestesses of Voodoo to Jewish Rabbis- we uncover how magick lives in the ordinary: in planting a seed, writing a song, sharing a meal, dancing, praying, and building community. These acts are not separate from the sacred-they are the sacred.

Through the lens of our professional film crew, including several students of witchcraft, The Thread invites audiences to reconsider what spirituality looks like today - and how, in ways both quiet and profound, we’re all participating, connected by the same ancient thread.

Why is it that in this era of hyper-connection there is such widespread loneliness, disillusionment, and division? The noise of modern life often drowns out the quiet rituals and communal wisdom that have long grounded our human experience.

We follow Documentary Host Deidra Catero, a High Priestess of the Progressive Witchcraft tradition. This tradition is rooted in a unique openness and drive to question with an open heart. To acknowledge that no single person or practice has all the answers.

With The Thread, we uncover connections between traditions and people, finding deeper understanding while showing others how to do the same.

This film doesn’t seek to define what is sacred. It asks what becomes possible when we seek the sacred in one another.
